Our office and studio are, for the moment, in the Domaine Chérioux in Vitry-sur-Seine, in the south suburb of Paris.
Thanks to the Conseil général du Val-de-Marne, but also to the Ministère de la Cuture and the Région Ile-de-France, the Centre de développement chorégraphique du Val-de-Marne will be equipped with a new equipment : la Briqueterie, also located in the city of Vitry-sur-Seine.
Old bricks factory, restored by architect Philippe Prost, la Briqueterie will open its doors at the end of 2012.
La Briqueterie was imagined as a dance factory, a place to welcome artists and audience to create a collective emulation about the works.
Three studios and a studio-scene, that can welcome 178 persons, will allow the artists to have time and space to create. Different kinds of esthetics will be presented, with a priority made to young companies. Beside the possibilities given by the studios, the companies will also be supported by the Centre de développement chorégraphique in production and tour organization.
The festival Biennale, the Plateaux – professional days - and the Temps forts, organized with our partners, will welcome those diverse projects. And to encourage and develop relationships between artists, professionals and audience, there will be public presentations of steps of creation, opened workshops, while current projects will continue – Première Scène for the amateur dancers, publishing our review Repères, cahier de danse...
La Briqueterie will be opened to everyone to make dance live in the area of Val de Marne but also in a national and international area, with projects made with European places.
The first stone was set on October 14th 2010 and the building site has started.
