キセキ– KISEKI  – TRAJECTORIES

PROJET INTERNATIONAL 2018

キセキ- Kiseki –Trajectories is a dance exchange programme between France, Italy and Japan and the first collaboration that la Briqueterie establishes with Japan. Through this tri-lateral exchange, three dance artists – Giorgia Nardin (IT), Satchie Noro (FR) and Teita Iwaguchi (JP) – travel to Tokyo/Yokohama in Japan, Bassano del Grappa/Borgo Valsugana in Italy and Vitry-sur-Seine/Paris in France for an immersive experience, including a 8-week creative residency period, encounters, informal showings and workshops in each of the hosting countries.

The three artists have the opportunity to work together and delve into the different social, cultural and artistic contexts offered by each country to research new creative ideas. The approach implies dialogues with audiences as a relevant part of the researching process. Questions of identity, the experience of living across cultures and cultural heritage are the points of departure of their artistic and collaborative research.

キセキ- Kiseki –Trajectories was born out of the desire to imagine a framework for possible encounters, a space of discovery and research in which artists have the possibility to work together, reclaim a time for reflection, a full « empty space » with no obligation to produce a piece. The encounter with different cultural contexts is a precious source of inspiration to nourish creativity, to expand the imagination and to build new knowledge. Through this project, we wanted to offer artists time and space away from their regular production schedules to discuss, exchange, experience cultural differences and develop a shared language for dance whose impact could go beyond the local.
